Abstract
Abstract The study involves the preparation of new sixteen imine compounds derived from mother ketones, namely 3-acetyl and 4-acetyl pyridines. These compounds were prepared in a forms of syn and anti oxime, phenolic or amino Schiff bases, containing phenol and amine groups in ortho, meta and para positions on aromatic rings. The presence of intra molecular hydrogen bonding in imines under investigation were confirmed by using UV and IR spectra. The main aims of the study was the determination of structures of imines by physical method. This included the measurements of UV and IR spectra, melting points in addition to the examination of specific chemical tests. خلاصة
