Antimicrobial Activity of Some Trichoderma spp. against Different Kinds of Fungal and Bacterial Isolates
Omar Al-Obaidy (المؤلف)
March 2019 ,Pages 9.0-16.0

Abstract: Two types of the fungus Trichoderma were chosen, these are T.viride and T.harzianum. The activity of these fungi were tested against different kinds of plant and human pathogenic fungi. After screening , the fungus T.harzianum was selected because it showed highest efficiency in its antagonistic activity than T.viride. It was also tested against other kinds of the plant and human pathogenic fungi and the fungus Macrophomina phaseolina was the most sensitive toward T.harzianum. In addition, the active compound from the fungus T.harzianum was extracted then tested against different types of pathogenic fungi and different types of pathogenic Gram positive and negative bacteria which showed different values of antagonistic activity. Bacillus subtilis was the most sensitive to the extract. Thus, many tests could be done to ensure the safety of this fungus (and its extract) and that is not toxic and to ensure its antagonistic activity toward the studied microbes inside the living body (In-Vivo), and then it could be used as good alternative to the chemicals that have side effects.

mohammed saeed، Ammar Al-Dabbagh، Yousra Al-refaie (المؤلف)
March 2019 ,Pages 17.0-36.0

Abstract: FtsZ is a tubulin homolog in bacteria. It forms a Z-ring to recruit other proteins in the process of cell division through its GTPase activity. Amino acid sequence of FtsZ was obtained from uniprot database and used for the determination of primary and secondary structures by several online tools. Homology modeling was carried out by SWISS-MODEL and PHYRE2. The models were evaluated and quality assessment indicated that the model produced by SWISS-MODEL had better quality than PHYRE2. Therefore, SWISS-MODEL was used in docking twenty five natural products by AutoDock 4.2.6. Dunnianol, pebrellin, dalbinol and hederagenin had docking energy higher than the previously used berberine and sanguinarine. Analogs of Dunnianol were sketched by ChemBioOffice Ultra 11.0 and docked. The analogs 2,4 and 7 had higher docking energy than the original compound. These natural products and the analogs obtained in this study could serve as possible inhibitors of this cell division protein, a new target in the development of new antimicrobials.

March 2019 ,Pages 106.0-120.0

Abstract: We study a new definition of a non-linear model of time series with hyperbolic secant function in a discrete time. The suggested model consist of two parts the first part is (linear) and the second part is (non-linear) which contains the hyperbolic secant function. We approximate this model to be linear by using the local linearization technique. We find the non-zero unique singular point that satisfies the non-linear variation equation, also stability of the non-zero unique singular point and the limit cycle if it exists of the suggested model.

March 2019 ,Pages 273.0-293.0

Abstract: Hybrid composites were prepared by two step. First step, different ratios of the base material represented by the blend of Epoxy and unsaturated Poly Ester (Ep/UPE) to determine the best blending ratio by means of studying the tensile strength and homogeneity of the samples. second step: preparing hybrid composites (B1, B2 and B3)after specifying the blend ratio of the basic material(B) and then mix it with various reinforcing materials, as E-glass fibers woven roven mat and Nano alumina particles with a grain size of (30 nm), with volume fraction 30%. Studying involved tensile strength and homogeneity tests and some mechanical tests (bending, impact, compression and hardness) also, some physical tests such as (absorption and thermal conductivity) in natural conditions, as well as studying the hot environment effect on the behavior of the prepared composites. The best (optimum) mixing ratios of these blend have been.selected is (Epoxy95%, UPE5%), And Reinforcing this blend with E-glass fiber and Nano Alumina leads to improves mechanical properties at room temperature ,when the composites exist in hot environmental conditions ranged from (25-55)°C, which lead to decease Young's modulus, but increase the impact strength as the temperature  increase with different percentage depending on the ratio of the reinforcement material add to the blend. About the physical  properties, it was noticed that the type of the solution and its concentration effect the absorption of the composites,  that was identified by the calculating diffusion coefficient values (D) for all the samples. The lowest value of the diffusion coefficient was for submersed samples in HCl solution, while the highest value was for the samples submersed in NaOH solution. It was also found that the reinforcing with glass fibers and Alumina powder leads to an  increase in the thermal conductivity with varying values depending on the type and ratios of the reinforcements added to the polymer blend. The effect of the reinforcing on thermal conductivity of the samples in hot environment ranged from (30-70)°C, Found that the thermal conductivity increases largely for both samples B3, B2 with increasing temperature.
