S.K. AL-Hakary (المؤلف)
January 2007 ,Pages 64.0-77.0

Abstract: In abnormal glow discharge in air under (D.C) excitation at different pressures in varying both frequency and amplitude of radio frequency field. Measurements of some plasma parameters such as (axial and radial electric field, electrical conductivity of positive column and electrical conductivity of glow discharge between the electrodes) have been reported for various currents discharge by using double probe method. The results show that the radial distribution of both axial and radial electric field measured between probes is nearly exponential and increases with the increasing A.C amplitude. This will in turn the conductivity of the positive column decreasing, furthermore to that he variation of axial electric field between electrodes with both frequency and A.C amplitude is nearly inversible leading to increasing electrical conductivity between electrodes according to that. The electrical conductivity between electrodes proportional linearly with the gas pressure, while the electrical conductivity of the positive column proportional inversely with gas pressure.

June 2006 ,Pages 78.0-93.0

Abstract: Since the representation theory start, the mathematics science especially in algebra began to open many new researches such our this one, we start from Schur algebra in his new representation described by Green [6], passing through his relation with semi-standard tableaux according to Green. The number of these tableaux still unknown, so we tried hardly to find the mathematical rule for this problem, but as these tableaux become great, the counting of them become difficult. Therefore, we tried to write an algorithm and a program to do so. As a result, we find the appropriate mathematical rule.

March 2006 ,Pages 94.0-103.0

Abstract: In this paper, we study the comparison among many methods to solve a system of linear equations based on the principle of wavelet methods as a Daubechies wavelet, Haar wavelet, Meyer wavelet, Symlet wavelet, Mexican Hat wavelet, Morlet wavelet. As a result, the Haar wavelet method can be considered the best method to solve the linear equations compared with the other methods especially for the dense and sparse matrix. For the three diagonal matrices the Meyer wavelet gave a good results. Other conclusion was found that the Symlet wavelet needs a long time to solve this system of equations and for all types of the matrix.

Adel Azzoz، Mahmoud Saeed، Khalil Al-Nuaimi (المؤلف)
June 2006 ,Pages 1.0-10.0

Abstract: ABSTRACT The paper is concerned with the preparation and determination o'f pKa for four acidic Schiff bases from the reaction of benzil with other appropriate aromatic primary amines as o,m,p-aminophenols and 4-amino-2-hydroxybenzoic acid. This produces two categories of acidic Schiff bases having a mono phenolic groups in o.m and p-positions and diacidic Schiff base containing a nieta phenolic and para carboxyl group with respect to amine group respectively. The structures of imines under study are confirmed by using some physical methods as melting points, UV, IR and NMR spectra. The potentiomeric method is applied for the determination of pka values of these acidic compounds. This is founded to be fast, simple and precise with an accuracy in the range of ± 0.001 pka unit. The pka values of mono phenolic Schiff bases are found to depend on the positions of phenolic groups on aromatic ring and in the order of increasing para > ortho > rneta. Moreover, the pka of diacidic Schiff base resulted to the evaluation of pka of phenolic group only, with a failer determination of pka value of the carboxyl group. A fixed 25% ethanol -water mixture is used through pKa determination Finally, a suitable interpretation for the last is given and discussed.

March 2006 ,Pages 11.0-19.0

Abstract: In this study, the essential oil was isolated from dried flower buds of Eugenia caiyophyllus (clove), then the eugenol and the acidic compounds were isolated from the essential oil. The inhibiting effect of these compounds were investigated on growth of some bacteria which are: Bacillus subtilis, Staphyhcoccus aureus, Pseudomonas aenighiosa> Escherichla coli Proteus mirabilis and Salmonella typhi. The steam distillation was used to isolate the essential oil while the chemically active extraction was used to isolate eugenol and neutral compounds. The eugenol was identificated by Thin layer chromatography (TLC) plate and determination the Rate of flow (Rf) of it. The essential oil showed better inhibiting effect on the all bacteria which was used in this study compared to commercial antibiotics as a control. Also, eugenol was showed an inhibiting effect on the all bacteria which was compared to commercial antibiotics but it's effect was stronger than the effect of essential oil. The neutral compounds have no effect on Ps. aeruginosa and Prof, mirabilis., but have an inhibiting effect which are less than that indicated for essential oil and eugenol compound compared to a control (Augmentin and Ciprofloxacin).

March 2006 ,Pages 20.0-41.0

Abstract: Thirty two albino male adult healthy rats were used as a biological and experimental model for this study, their body weight ranged between 250-275g and aged 3-4 months. They were divided according to the body weight into four groups. The first group considered to be control group, feed ordinary diet and normal drinking water, the second group feed ordinary diet and giving 0.5% H2O2 in freshly prepared drinking water, which contains oxygen and hydroxyl free radicals. The third group feed atherogenic diet (normal diet containing 4.69% saturated animal fats and 0.26% cholesterol) and normal drinking water, and the fourth group feed atherogenic diet and 0.5% HjC^ in drinking water for 30days experimental period. Nutritional status (body mass, afford diet, eliminated feces, liver, heart, kidney weights and diet lipid absorption) were estimated. Serum total lipid, cholesterol, triglycerides, phospholipids and various lipoproteins were determined, atherogenic indices were calculated and the malondialdehyde levels of liver, heart, kidney tissues were estimated. Analysis of variance and Duncan multiple tests showed the highly effect of 0.5% HsOz with/without saturated animal fats and cholesterol, was caused a decrease in body mass, ingesting diet weights and body absorbable lipid and increase values of serum total lipids, cholesterol, triglyceride, very low density and low density lipoproteins, In addition, it caused an increase values of atherogenic indices and a decrease in high density lipoprotein. Also the atherogenic diet alone was caused a similar affect of hydrogen peroxide on rat's nutritional status and serum lipid profile, therefore, the interaction affect of those two agents together was caused increase values of rat serum lipids, lipoproteins, malondialdehyde and a decrease in high density lipoprotein value.

March 2006 ,Pages 52.0-64.0

Abstract: Trematoda, which belong to platyhelminthes resemble many living organisms which have the ability to produce mineral concentrations and constitute as so called calcareous corpuscles, which were investigated in the present study in F, Gigantica, using Von Kossa technique. Results revealed the existence of calcareous corpuscles which were abundantly distributed in the potential organs with high metabolic functions like excretory, digestive and reproductive system, as well as the parenchyma. Whereas, they appear less abundante in the ventral sucker. On the ather hand the skin lacks the corpuscles, as the results of the present study, clear the aim of its performance to explain the centralize location, biological importance and the functional role of these corpuscles, leading to an increase in the limited available informational background for investigation on separation and distribution of the calcareous corpuscles and their roles which interact with its variable metabolic activities adult worm F.gigantica. The present work may be considered first in Ninevah province north of Iraq.
