Abstract: New complexes of general formula [M(L)2C12] , [M2(L)2C14] and adducts [M(L)2(phen)Cl2] ,where L=4'-azachalcone ,phen - 1,10-phenanthrolin, M=Mn(II),Co(Il),Ni(II) and Cu(II) have been prepared. The complexes and adducts were characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, magnetic moment and spectral (IR and electronic) studies. Magnetic moment values and electronic spectral data provide evidence for the existanee of tetrahedral environment around the metal ions in the complexes and octahedral geometry in the adducts.
Abstract: Simple, rapid and sensitive spectrophotometric rnethod for the determination of metoclopramide hydrochloride in a bulk sample and in dosage forms is described. The method depends on the oxidative coupling reaction of metoclopramide. HCI with promazine. HCI in the presence of N-bromosuccinimide to form a bluish-green product which absorbs at 600 nm. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range 0.4-28.0 pg/ml with good accuracy (average recovery) 100.92% and precision (RSD) is less ihur, 2.0%. The molar absorptivity is t4917 l.mol-'.cm-' with detection and quantification limits 0.11 pg/ml and 0.37 pglml respectively. Common excipients used as additives in pharmaceuticals do not interfere in the proposed rnethod. The method is successfully employed for the detennined of metoclopramide.HCl in pharmaceutical preparations and the results agree favourably with S.D.I. and British pharmacopoeia methods and also with certified values.
Abstract: In this work the oxidation of five a-aminoacids (glycine, alanine, valine, leucine and norleutine) by permanganate ion in an aqueous phosphate buffer solution were studied. The results showed that the reaction proceed in two pathways. The first is noncatalyzed and the second is autocatalyzed by the colloidal manganese dioxide resulted from the first pathway. The dependences of the noncatalyzed oxidation reaction on the pH of the medium was utilized in calculation of the rate constant for the oxidation of zwitter ionic (kHA) and anionic (kA) forms.
Abstract: A new ligands l,l,2,2-tetrakis-(benzothiazolethio) ethylene (Li) and mercaptobenzothiazole potassium (L2) had been synthesized, investigated and used in the preparation of Mn*2, Co+2, Ni*2 and Cu+2 complexes. Also the reaction of the above complexes with 1,10-phenanthroline has been reported. The complexes and adducts were characterized using IR and UV-visible spectroscopy, atomic absorption molar conductivity and magnetic moments measurements. Electronic spectra and magnetic measurement showed that some of the complexes have tetrahedral geometry, the other complexes and the adducts have an octahedral geometry.
Abstract: This research is concerned to measure some biochemical variables of fifty lactating women non pregnant comparing with fifty women neither lactating nor pregnant of the same age. of lactating once. The blood serum concentration of total protein, albumin, globulin, alkaline phosphates, calcium, phosphorus, sodium, potassium and hemoglobin were determined. The results showed decline concentration of total protein, globulin and calcium in addition to high concentration of phosphorus and sodium is found in the serum of women lactating, while the results showed no significant differences of values of albumin, alkaline phosphates, potassium and hemoglubin. Also, the result showed that the intake on not intake of milk by lactating mothers had no impact on the biochemical variables. Finally, the concentration of albumin decreased in the first month of lactation, while, in the letar lactation months there is increase concentration of alkaine phosphates and decline concentrations of sodium and potassium.

These complexes have been characterized by means of micro analysis (N&M), molar conductance measurements, magnetic measurements I.R, and electronic spectral studies.
Abstract: Forty-two albino mate adult rats treated with 0.5% hydrogen peroxide, 4.69%saturated animal fats and 0.26%cholesterol added to the diet, were used in. this study as experimental and biological model. Their body weights ranged between 250-275g and aged 3-4 months. They were divided into seven groups equal in number and identical weights, The first group considered to be negative control group, second group was the positive control group (standard group), orally treated with 0.57% Flavostatin / Kg, third and fourth groups were orally treated with 300 and 600mg sunflower oil extract/Kg respectively, fifth and six groups were orally treated with 120 and 240mg sunflower water extract/Kg body weight respectively, seven group fed the atherogenic diet containing 10% sunflower cake. All groups were fed atherogenic diet containing saturated animal fats and cholesterol, and given freshly prepared 0.5% H2O2 in drinking water ad libitum. The experimental period was continued for 15 days, in addition to 30 days during which atherosclerosis was induced in rats. Analysis of variance and Duncan multiple tests showed that, the effect of sunflower oil, water extracts and 10% sunflower cake caused significant (p<0.05) decrease in serum TL, TC, TG and the undesirable very low density(VLDL-c), low density (LDL-c) lipoproteins and PL values, atherogenic indices and malondialdehyde levels in Iiver,_ heart and kidney tissues, On the other hand, they caused an increase in the level of the desirable high density lipoprotein (HDL-c). In addition, it caused improvement in the animal nutritional status, so it decreases the amount of diet lipid absorption from intestine.

The results also showed a significant a decrease in the phagocytic activity of neutrophiles among the diabetic patients compared with the control group. The isolates of Alcaligenes showed sensitivity toward non-immunized human serum, A. faecalis showed high sensitivity toward the serum while the subsp A. Xylosoxidans. denitrificans and A, Xylosoxidans xylosoxidans are showed different sensitivity toward non -immune serum after (3) hours of incubation.
Abstract: The present study successed in obtaining callus from embedding cell suspension of Glycine max in agar using Multiple Drop Array (MDA) technique. Results indicate that liquid Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 0.1 mg/L NAA and 2.0 mg/L BA promot divisions of cell and colonies formation.Moreover,electro-treatment of those cell suspension before culture enhanced division of cells and increased colonies formation. Interestingly, the results indicate that mixing certain quantity of Ri-plasmid with cell suspension also stimulate formation of cellular colonies. Generally all these treatments led to the formation of small pieces of callus in agar drops, These fragments of callus continued its growth on subculture medium.

Abstract: This study carried out the induction of callus from the explants (leaves, stems and roots) of the medicinal plants Foeniculum vulgare Mill (Fennel) by using MS medium which contained different concentration of growth regulators of Naphthalene acetic acid and Benzyl adenine (NAA + BA) or Indole acetic acid and Kinetine (NAA + Kin). The results indicated that solid MS medium with 1.0 mg/L from each of NAA and BA was the best for the induction and growth of callus. The callus of the explants used were amenable to regenerate and produce numerous shoots. Leaf callus gave the highest percentage of regeneration, then callus of stems and roots. Also, the' results showed the one step regeneration occured for all the callus in the MS medium, especially, MS medium contained (NAA 1.0 mg/L + BA 1.0 mg/L). The regenerants were rooted in MS medium contained 1.0 mg/L of NAA or 2,4-D.
Abstract: The present Study Conducted to investigate the morphological, anatomical and histological development photoreceptors development in viviparous teleost fish Xiphophorus maculates at the level of light microscope. The results showed the embryonic development of the photoreceptors in the retina started at early stage. The differentiation and development progressed to form aduplex retina which is avascular and including eight layers and two membranes at adult stage. The first signal of photoreceptors initiation as rods and cones nuclei appeared at the 3rd stage of development. Variations appeared in the rods development and differentiations in their partitions. In addition, the number of rods increased compared to that of cones, to reach the ratio of 4:1 in the adult stage. On the other hand, the cones developed into four main types and their partitions differentiated. The first two types differentiated were long single and twin cones.
Abstract: This work presents the study of the effect of the static pressure on the propagation of laser beam in the fibers. Three types of fiber have been used in this studies; multimode & step index fiber, Plastic Clad Plastic (PCP) with and with-out jacket and Glass core fiber (bare core). Normal pressure of rang (0 ~ 1300 ) bar were applied on a section (20 cm) length of fiber. The variation of power attenuation as a function of time during the applied pressure were also investigated .The sensitivity of each fiber was determined when used as a fiber optical pressure sensor. The results show PCP with jacket gives poor response to the pressure up to 500 bar, while glass core fiber fail as a sensor when the pressure is 1300 bar. PCP with-out jacket show two times sensitivity more when compared with other fiber under the same pressure used in this study.
Abstract: The aim of the present research is to design and study the performance of an optical system for the purpose of measuring the pressure, using semiconductor laser. A Commercial laser diode of 650 nm Wavelength and 3 mW power is used to measure a low pressure inside a chamber, which is designed for this purpose. The most important parameter including Threshold current, Energy gap Quantum efficiency,....etc under different values of pressure (1000 mbar-25 mbar) and at room temperature were taken into consideration. The results show that the laser diode gives a good response to the variation of the pressure inside the chamber, especially, when the laser was operating at pulsed mode. The main conclusion arrived at, indicates that the laser diode can be used as a sensing unit for low pressure, meanwhile when the pressure decreases; the out put power of the laser diode is increased within 0.091 u-W/mbar.
